one-of-a-kind ferry fleet sails the entire western coastline starting in
Bellingham WA (Seattle) to Whittier AK (Anchorage) and west to the Aleutian
Chain. Alaska State ferries offer an Alaskan cruise alternative with
cabin accommodations, restaurants, and the ability to carry a variety of
vehicles of all types and sizes.
If you are looking for an enjoyable
and hassle-free way to see and explore Alaska, Alaska Ferry Adventures
offers a variety of ferry-cruise tours which include your ferry
reservations, lodging, and sightseeing activities. See all that Alaska has
to offer by traveling on the Alaska State ferries, the Alaska Railroad,
Alaska Airlines, and the Alaska Highway.
Alaska is fascinating with
time-less beauty, picturesque villages, vast National Parks such as Denali,
Glacier Bay, and Wrangell-St. Elias teeming with wildlife, and awesome
vistas of mountains and glaciers.
A BRIEF OVERVIEW ABOUT THE FERRIES
Year-round weekly service is available from Bellingham
Washington to Alaska, taking about three days to travel from Bellingham to
Haines where you will find your first access to the famous Alaska Highway (ALCAN
HWY). If you plan to drive from Haines to Fairbanks or Anchorage, passports or
passport cards are required. If you do not have a passport, ferry service is
also offered from Bellingham to Whittier, located just 70 miles south of
Anchorage. If your access point to the Alaska Marine Highway is from Canada,
there is a terminal located in Prince Rupert, British Columbia offering a link
to the road system in Canada as well as a link to the BC Ferries from Port Hardy
(Vancouver, British Columbia).
Most Alaska ferries can carry vehicles up to 60’ feet long. Cabins are available
for rent if you overnight, or camping areas are available for those who choose
to camp on board. You will also find restaurants, cafeterias, cocktail lounges,
theatre areas and play rooms on board. Hot showers, luggage lockers, and towel
and linen rentals are also available on most ships along the Inside Passage. The
Columbia also provides laundry facilities. Fares are calculated by the total
overall length of your vehicle. Senior discounts and children discounts are
available year round along with special discounts for drivers.
