The
State of Alaska Marine Highway Ferry System offers year-round ferry service
from Washington State to Anchorage’s port of Whittier two hours south of
Alaska’s largest city. Alaskan ports of call along the way are
spectacular, offering world-class views along the Inside Passage with some
of the most magnificent scenery on earth. The Alaska Marine Highway is the
only ferry liner that lets you take your Car or RV to Alaska, giving you the
freedom of cruising one way and the option to drive the other way if you
prefer to do so.
You can disembark at any port, take as long as you
would like to explore,
then board the ship again and continue the journey at your own pace. Skagway
or Haines gives you access to Canada’s Yukon Territory, and Alaska’s Alcan
Highway (aka Alaska Highway), the port of Whittier is just a couple hours
south of Anchorage. Loading and unloading is simple-just drive on and off
the ship. Alaskan ferries take walk-on passengers, Cars, and RV’s up to 60’
feet long on most ships.
Roomy comfortable cabins are available for
rent, or camping areas are available for those who choose to camp on board.
You will find restaurants, cafeterias, cocktail lounges, theatre areas, and
play rooms available on all ships.
From the Captain to the room
stewards, everyone works at making your time aboard the most relaxing
carefree experience possible.

PRESS RELEASE - Tustumena July 2013 Sailings Canceled
Tustumena Return to
Service Delayed Again (JUNEAU, Alaska) – The Alaska Marine Highway System
(AMHS) today announced that the M/V Tustumena will not return to service
until July 23, 2013.The M/V Tustumena entered a federal capital
improvement project on November 1, 2012 and was originally scheduled to
return to service on April 17, 2013. Due, in part, to unexpected
discovery items, specifically steel work, a project extension until May
29, 2013 was conveyed to the Seward Ship’s Drydock. The Alaska Department
and Transportation and Public Facilities (ADOT&PF) has agreed with the
shipyard to extend the project timeline. As a result, AMHS is forced to
cancel scheduled M/V Tustumena sailings through July 22, 2013. The
vessel is scheduled to begin service July 23, 2013 departing Seldovia,
Alaska
