All of the AMHS
vessels with cabins provide at least one wheelchair accessible cabin
while all vessels have elevator access.
Passengers need to
notify the Alaska Marine Highway of any special accommodations that
may be needed in the event of emergency.Please provide this
information when making reservations and notify the purser upon
boarding the vessel. A two-year pass is available (small fee) for persons
having at least a 70% disability. This
entitles the pass-owner to discounted rates on certain sailings.
Elevator access is available on all vessels. Wheelchair accessible
cabins are available on any vessel that has cabins. VETERAN'S DISABLED PASS PROGRAM
A
reduced fare pass is available for travel on Alaska Marine Highway
vessels for U.S, Veterans having a service related disability.
The pass entitles the disabled veteran and an attendant (if required
by a physician) to travel at half the regular passenger fare.
Reduced fare does not include a vehicle or a stateroom. The pass is
good for travel between Alaskan ports on all AMHS vesssels, year
around.
In order
to receive this discount, the Alaska Marine Highway System must
receive a completed application which, then, must go through an
approval process. Please allow up to six (6) weeks for processing
this aplication.
